There are few things more annoying in life than having your home infested with cockroaches, they carry germs and diseases and if you have small children this is even more of a concern. The best way to get rid of them is to take swift and decisive action. Many of us are so accustomed to just purchasing repellents at the supermarket or pharmacy that we do not give much thought to natural methods. Below some natural and effective homemade methods will be listed in order to help you take care of your problem with cockroaches.
Use Borax Balls
Using gloves, mix some flour with sugar, milk and borax. Roll them into balls and then allow them to dry. You can then place them into the areas where you notice the infestation is high. Cockroaches will die when they eat this as it is poisonous. However, care should be taken to make sure that your children or your pets do not get near these balls as there is a danger that they might eat or touch them.
Use Potatoes And Baking Powder
With this method you will have to mix the baking powder with potato juice and make balls, place them in cockroach invested areas. Cockroaches will get gas and not be able to digest the mixture because their intestines are so tiny, this will cause them to die.
Use Grease And Oil
Put grease around the edges of containers and place them in infested areas, be sure to apply them around the edges and rims of these containers. Put a piece of food inside the container to lure the cockroaches. The cockroaches will be able to get into the container but they will not be able to get out due to the grease. As you have learnt there are natural ways to rid your home of cockroaches, some of these methods are child and pet friendly and you do not have to worry about harming pets or children. Whether you want to use a poisonous or non-poisonous solution depends entirely on your living arrangement.
